For the first time, the Ministry of Land & Resources P.R.C organized experts to appraise the achievement of a tailings recovery equipment on December 22, 2004 in Beijing. After listening to the inventor’s introduction to the equipment, the experts concluded that it is a new type of flotation mining tailings recovery technology with advantages of high efficiency, energy-saving and low cost etc.

With the support of the Mine Exploitation and Supervise Department of the Ministry of Land and Resources. Beijing Binlong Mining New Technology Co., Ltd and Beijing Institute of Non-ferrous Metals designed and completed Jet Cyclone Flotation technology.

The spokesman of Ministry of Land & Resources said at the meeting,‘the technology has been put into production by Beijing Binlong Mining New Technology Co., Ltd in October 2002. About 5,000 tons of rare earth from  Baotou Steel Group in Inner Mongolia and more than 6,000 tons of lead & zinc metal from the tailings dam of Baiyin Non-ferrous Metal Group, Gansu Province 

had been processed from tailings respectively since then, which were worth about RMB 30 million Yuan and gained economic benefit of RMB 10 million Yuan.  The implementation of the new technology also greatly reduce tailings emissions and provided hundreds of local jobs, leading to a remarkable benefit in economic, social and environmental aspects. 

The spokesman said that the Ministry of Land & Resources will Strongly support and recommend the technology which can significantly improve the utilization rate of resources and develop mining recycle economy.
